Almond mask: Blend 2 ounces
blanched almonds to the consistency of grated cheese. Add a few
drops of water, if necessary. Yields 1/2 cup.
Oatmeal mask: Blend 1 cup of oatmeal until powdery. Yields 3/4 cup powdered meal. Add a few drops of water.
* Blanched almonds and oatmeal
have proven very effective. However, for those sensitive to nuts
and grains, we recommend that you prepare your mask with peanuts,
soybeans, sunflower seed, potato or millet meal, or any other meal
that can be tolerated.
Avocado
mask: Beat together 1 tablespoon ripe avocado and a few drops of
lemon juice. Apply to freshly scrubbed face and throat.
Leave on 30 minutes; rinse with warm, then cool, water.
Milk of Magnesia mask: Apply plain milk of magnesia over face and neck.
Another
method of cleaning the face is to steam the face with hot towels which
have been dampened in a solution of vinegar and 1 quart of water.
Wipe off layers of dead skin.
* If sensitive to vinegar, substitute home-made lemon juice.
