You can create your own hair spray using ecologically safe household items.
Mix
1/8 teaspoon powdered gelatin in 1/6 cup cool water. Heat in top
of double boiler, stirring to dissolve. Transfer into a spray
atomizer (glass bottle, such as an antique perfume sprayer).
Store supply in refrigerator. Heat before use.
As a
solution to flyaway hair, pat fresh lemon juice on hard-to-maintain
areas, or make your own lemon hair spray. Chop 1 whole lemon and
cover with hot water, bring to boil and boil down until half the
original quantity of water remains. Cool, then squeeze lemon and
liquid through a thin cloth or cheese strainer. If too thick, add
water and mix well. Refrigerate in pump valve dispenser (as is
used for washing windows).
